A consult of mobile publishers worldwide—most of them focused on gaming apps—found that rewarded video ads are a many effective approach to beget revenue.
In a Mar 2017 AdColony survey, rewarded video ads—which are ads that give users rewards, generally in a form of credit for games being played in apps—were rated a many effective approach to monetize apps. Rewarded video outranked not usually other ad formats, though also non-advertising strategy like in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Interestingly, a AdColony consult also found publishers feel that rewarded video ads offer a best user experience. Fully 87% of respondents rated rewarded video ads as a certain user experience. No other ad form came close, according to a study.
The consult organisation was games-oriented: Some 82% of a publishers were games-only mobile app developers.
